Issa Lopez has confirmed that True Detective season 5 will offer a very different atmosphere in the new episodes than the story told in the Night Country season. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Lopez confirmed that the new season of the HBO series will not be very different from what fans expect, but will come with a much darker and twisted story than previous seasons.
“I can’t wait for everyone to see it because it’s so different and exciting,” Lopez said, adding that he started the script writing process in June and that this process is still ongoing. Confirming that the new season will focus on two female characters, just like Night Country, he said, “There are different characters, a different setting and a different story,” further increasing the excitement ahead of the new season.
As it is known, True Detective: Night Country received great appreciation from the viewers. In fact, the season finale of the series managed to reach a record of 3.2 million viewers on HBO. In addition, with 12.7 million viewers on the Max platform, this season was the most watched season in the entire True Detective history.
