The new Sony flagship, Xperia 1 VI, is gearing up to unveil its surprising features at the big event on May 17th. With the highly anticipated Sony Xperia 1 VI launch just around the corner, fresh leaks about the device continue to emerge. Let’s take a closer look at the revealed details…
Sony Xperia 1 VI camera, battery, and performance features
While there have been many rumors surrounding the phone, today’s details that have surfaced online seem to clarify many features, from the camera capabilities to the processor power. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest powerhouse, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. In terms of the camera, the Xperia 1 VI comes with an ultra-wide 16mm lens, a main camera at 24mm (which can reach 48mm with 2x optical zoom), and a telephoto lens capable of zooming between 85-170mm.
This surpasses the maximum zoom capacity of the previous model, Xperia 1 V, at 125mm. Additionally, it’s mentioned that the main camera will support macro photography and promise photo quality that competes with Sony’s “full-size” cameras.
The innovations are not limited to hardware alone; Sony is also ambitious on the software front this time. Good news for Sony users who have dealt with different camera applications for years. Alongside the Xperia 1 VI, only one new camera app will be introduced, inspired by Sony’s Alpha series cameras.
Furthermore, ‘human pose estimation technology’ has been added to this model. This feature has been developed to focus even if people are facing away or their faces are not visible. Additionally, the Xperia 1 VI model retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and the speakers have been redesigned to provide enhanced bass and clarity.
The back of the phone is covered with a matte textured glass and will be available in ‘platinum silver’ and ‘black’ color options. As for the display features, an OLED screen with a wider 19.5:9 aspect ratio will be 1.5 times brighter than the Xperia 1 V and will offer a variable refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz.
And of course, it’s said to come with Sony’s massive 5,000mAh battery capacity and improved battery health technology, which could extend the battery life up to four years. The phone will also support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging features.
With all these surprising features, the new flagship is poised to meet the expectations of tech enthusiasts. Let’s see if Sony can impress users with this new flagship. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
