Suzuki is preparing to introduce its first electric car later this year. As part of this process, it has announced that it will discontinue some of its compact vehicles. The company announced plans to modernize its model range by early 2025.

Early next year, the plug will be pulled on the Suzuki Ignis, Swift Sport and Jimny. Lightweight, affordable and with gasoline engines, these vehicles will no longer be produced during the company’s electrification process. However, since they are concept products, there is a possibility of revival.

The Ignis, which was produced for urban use, drew attention with its compact structure. The Swift Sport appealed to the affordable hot hatch segment with its manual transmission and skiddable handling. Jimny LCV, on the other hand, attracted the attention of land-adventure lovers with its small off-road structure.

With the departure of these models, Suzuki’s product range in many markets has shrunk. In this context, only Swace Estate, Swift, Vitara, S-Cross and plug-in hybrid Across will continue to be sold in Europe. However, the brand aims to introduce more electric models by 2030.

With the disappearance of models such as the Ignis, Swift Sport and Jimny, a major transformation of Suzuki electric vehicles is expected.

Suzuki recently drew attention with the S-Cross hybrid SUV. It brings many equipment such as lane keeping system, traffic sign recognition, blind spot warning, hill start support and traffic warning system.
