Ana sayfa / Internet

Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, is constantly trying to improve and expand his services, especially Starlink. He lastly made a collaboration with T-Mobile in the name of SpaceX. T-Mobile and SpaceX have announced that they will use Starlink satellites, which will be launched next year, to connect to the carrier’s phones instead of the existing cellular lines. Here are the details about T-Mobile and SpaceX’s deal.

T-Mobile and SpaceX are having a partnership to get rid of mobile dead zones with the latest technology Starlink satellite internet. The companies have announced the second-generation Starlink satellites launching next year, and they will come with new connection features. Thanks to their “Coverage Above and Beyond” setup, 2 to 4 Megabits per second connection will be available for mobile phones to connect.

The new Starlink service will be even available in regions with no cellular line according to SpaceX founder Musk. The companies said in a press release at the event in Texas, “the new plan would provide near complete coverage in most places in the US — even in many of the most remote locations previously unreachable by traditional cell signals.” The service will be available in US, Hawaii, parts of Alaska, Puerto Rico and territorial waters.

Elon Musk posted on Twitter,” Starlink V2, launching next year, will transmit directly to mobile phones, eliminating dead zones worldwide. Note, connectivity will be 2 to 4 Mbits per cell zone, so will work great for texting & voice calls, but not high bandwidth.” According to T-Mobile CEO Sievert, the messaging apps will have to be capable of working with T-Mobile and Starlink to make a satellite connection once the service launches.

The new satellites will be bigger, bigger than the current ones to pick up even a very quite signal from the cell phones. They will be traveling overhead at 17,000 miles per hours. Additionally, CEO Musk accounced that Tesla will use the technology for the premium connectiviy feature in the vehicles. The company uses AT&T’s network for its electric vehicles.
