The satellite internet service Starlink, founded by the famous entrepreneur Elon Musk in 2002 through his company SpaceX, has achieved significant revenue, surpassing its competitors. The income generated by this eagerly awaited service in our country in recent years has now been revealed.
Starlink Falls Short of Expectations
A recently shared report sheds light on how much revenue Starlink has brought to SpaceX. However, according to the information provided, this report unfortunately did not meet the expectations of the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.
According to the information in the report, Starlink generated $1.4 billion in revenue in 2022. This figure was $222 million in 2021, indicating a 530% increase. However, more revenue was expected.
SpaceX began working on Starlink in 2015, forecasting that it would generate $12 billion in revenue to attract investors. However, as of 2022, a total of $7 billion in profit has been generated. In other words, the expectations were not met.
Starlink is planning to establish a network of 12,000 satellites by 2027. The current satellites provide service in 40 countries. It is expected that Elon Musk’s company will take significant steps in the coming years to generate more revenue.
