Technology that has been in our lives since 1994 is new to Windows 11!

What you read in the title is not a joke. Humanity’s introduction to the QR code system dates back to 1994. Later, with the developing technology, we started to look at the menu with these codes even in the cafes we went to. Nowadays, we share our Wi-Fi information directly with QR codes, but Microsoft is far behind in this regard. Here are the details…

Thank God: QR code feature for Wi-Fi is finally coming to Windows 11!

“Dude, what’s the Wi-Fi password?” We may ask the question to many of our friends or hear the same question throughout the day. In our daily lives, we use mobile applications even to take the public bus. Of course, all these systems also make internet connection mandatory for us.

There is a Wi-Fi password craze in our home, school or workplace. These passwords can sometimes be really long and complicated. However, when you add uppercase letters, lowercase letters and punctuation marks, things get longer and it can take up to 15-20 minutes for you to provide a Wi-Fi password.

For this reason, manufacturers have produced technologies that will allow you to share Wi-Fi passwords between devices with a QR code. But this technology never came to Windows computers. When Windows users still share Wi-Fi passwords, they share passwords one by one by coding them like “hatted A, lowercase B, uppercase O”.

However, according to the latest news from Microsoft, this is now changing. Code sharing feature is coming to Windows 11, where you can share a Wi-Fi connection with a QR code. According to the statements made on the subject, Windows devices connected to any network will now create a QR code so that other users can connect to the network from their mobile devices. This feature has actually been on our devices for a long time, but Microsoft’s Windows is quite late.
