Tecno Pocket Go, the next generation handheld console with Windows operating system, launched
Packed with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS APU, LPDDR5-6400 RAM and a 50Wh battery, Tecno Pocket Go runs on Windows 11 and can be connected to both an external monitor and Tecno’s Pocket Vision VR headsets.
Alongside high-end models like the ASUS ROG Ally X, Tecno will offer this device at a more affordable price point. Pocket Go has a design that is far from the traditional game console form. Announced at the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC) event, the device was last showcased at IFA 2024, but price information was not disclosed at that time.
Specifications include an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS APU with 10-30W TDP, Radeon 780M graphics, M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen4 storage and a 50Wh battery with 65W fast charging support. There are also two USB Type-C ports, a UHS-II MicroSD card reader, and premium features like Hall-effect analog sticks and triggers.
Meanwhile, the device offers a typical gamepad experience with Xbox-style ABXY buttons. Pocket Go comes with Pocket Vision VR goggles, which display 1080p resolution at 60 Hz. It also has two speakers, a headphone jack and a myopia adjustment wheel for those with visual impairments.
If we look at the prices, Pocket Go is available for sale with a starting price of 869 dollars. In addition, the 32 GB RAM and 1 TB storage option is priced at $1,049. VR glasses can be purchased separately for $349.
