Tesla FSD v12.5 is being widely released!

Ana sayfa / News

Tesla has begun the widespread release of the latest version of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, v12.5. However, this update is currently only available for vehicles equipped with HW4 hardware. So, when will Tesla’s HW3 models receive the FSD v12.5 update?

This past weekend, Tesla started sending out the FSD Supervised v12.5.1.1 update to more vehicles. This version has broader coverage than the previous v12.5.1 release, but both versions are still only available for vehicles with the latest HW4 computer hardware.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously announced that FSD v12.5 would first be rolled out to Model Y vehicles with HW4 hardware, rather than HW3. Last week, Musk predicted that FSD v12.5 would be sent to vehicles with HW3 hardware within about 10 days, which means the rollout could begin as early as this Thursday.

The refreshed Tesla Model Y has been revealed for the first time. The updated exterior design and luxurious interior details have surfaced.

However, as Musk previously explained, optimizing FSD v12.5 to run on Tesla vehicles with HW3 hardware requires significant software work and a separate validation process. Musk also mentioned that the number of parameters in FSD v12.5 is five times that of v12.4.

With additional optimizations to the code, this version should eventually work on HW3 vehicles. Cybertruck owners are also anticipating the arrival of the FSD system. Musk indicated that FSD v12.5 would be sent to the Cybertruck within two to four weeks.

FSD v12.5 will not only be the first version to be available on the Cybertruck, but it will also bring numerous improvements, including the combination of highway and city road software stacks, allowing drivers to wear sunglasses in autopilot mode, and the long-awaited Tesla “real smart summon” feature.
