Google has recently released Android Auto version 13.9 to its beta channel. The new update comes on the heels of the recent stable release of the previous version, 13.8. Given that Google usually sticks to its monthly update schedule, there are reasons for the early release this time.
Android Auto 13.9 update released: There are improvements to the interface
Android Auto 13.9 doesn’t offer any major innovations, although important bugs have been fixed in the background, but some terms in the user interface have been updated. For example, the word “car” has been changed to “vehicle” in many places. Apart from that, some of the phrases that have changed are as follows:
- “Android Auto will restart when your car is parked.”
- “Use the car screen to resume the connection or tap ‘Disconnect’ to disconnect.”
- “Your phone may not be able to connect to a vehicle with USB debugging enabled. You can disable this in Developer Options.”
In addition, descriptions of how to view information such as the weather have also been updated. On the other hand, although Google stated that it offered some bug fixes with the 13.9 update, it did not share a detailed list of changes. However, users are especially hoping that wireless connectivity issues and disconnections in certain vehicle models will be fixed.
The update is currently in beta and will be rolled out gradually to all users. It is not yet known when the stable version will be released, but Google usually makes the update widely available a few weeks after beta testing.
