One of the most charismatic and popular main characters in the gaming world, Agent 47, is preparing to make his return. During the State of Play event, where Sony made several major announcements, a new Hitman game was also revealed with a video. The game will be exclusive to PSVR 2 users, and players will be able to upgrade from the main game at an affordable price.
Hitman enters the world of virtual reality!
IO Interactive has announced that Hitman: World of Assassination will be released for PlayStation VR 2 (PSVR 2) in December. This latest virtual reality (VR) version of the Hitman series comes with several improvements and innovations compared to previous versions. Notably, features such as dual-wielding, effective use of both hands, and room-scale gameplay will provide players with a more immersive and realistic experience.
The PSVR 2 version will be available as an upgrade for existing owners of Hitman: World of Assassination for $9.99 / €9.99 / £8.99. This upgrade is aimed at PS5 owners, offering improved control mechanics and an all-new virtual reality experience.
This new version introduces many interactions such as active reloading, holstering weapons on your body, aiming with a sniper scope, and changing disguises. With room-scale gameplay provided by PSVR 2, players will be able to dive deeper into the Hitman world, allowing more freedom of movement and natural interaction with objects in the virtual environment.
Previously, Hitman 3 had offered a VR mode for both PSVR and PC VR. However, the PSVR 2 version includes significant upgrades compared to earlier versions. For example, melee combat mechanics will now feature free movement, offering a more fluid and natural gameplay style.
