While Huawei is expected to showcase its iconic three-fold foldable phone in the second quarter, Samsung might not want to lose the title of “world’s first” in this field.
However, several users noted encountering many camera issues with the newly released flagship phone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, suggesting that Samsung might be better off aiming for the title of “ideal” rather than “first.”
One tweet said, “Rumors are swirling that Samsung will add a three-fold folding screen to its product lineup this year. Considering that Huawei will almost certainly release a three-fold foldable device in the second quarter, from Samsung’s perspective, it needs to make sure not to miss out on the title of ‘the first in the world.'”
Currently, it’s not known if Samsung has made any announcements regarding introducing a three-fold foldable device in the near future. However, a few months ago, the company filed a patent for a new Galaxy Fold featuring a double hinge and a three-screen frame.
Huawei or Samsung: Who will be first?
According to rumors and leaks, Huawei is speeding up the development of the three-fold foldable phone and plans to introduce it in the second half of the year. The company is testing ultra-thin glass and hinge mechanisms to make the device durable and efficient from all angles.
