Sales data from the European Union and the United Kingdom revealed the best-selling cars in the first six months of 2024. Tesla, which was at the top of the list last year with the Model Y, was able to take the eighth place with the same model this year. The top rows of the list were filled by popular models in the market.
Dacia Sandero, which took the leadership seat with 143,596 units sold, attracted everyone’s attention with its affordable price, latest body design and technology. Sandero, which is in demand because it is a full-f/p model, also proved this with its sales. The legendary Volkswagen Golf came in second place with 126,993 sales, while Renault Clio, another f/p model, came in third with 114,623 sales.
Volkswagen T-Roc followed Clio with 111,381 units, Peugeot 208 came in fifth with 107,097 sales, Scoda Octavia came in sixth with 102,945 sales, and Citroen C3 came in seventh with 102,304 sales. Last year’s leader Tesla Model Y came in eighth with 101,181 sales, while Toyota’s popular models Yaris Cross and Yaris took the last two places on the list. The sales figures for both vehicles were around 99,000.
Although all the cars on the list were successful in their segments, Toyota should be congratulated in particular. Although there are more than one brand on the list twice, Toyota, which made it to the list twice with the same model, has really achieved serious success.
