Android and iOS, the two most popular operating systems today, attract users with their different features. Although many people prefer to stay on the same operating system when changing phones, it is clear that there is a demand for the iPhone. So how do you move your data from Android to iPhone using the Move to iOS app?
What is Move to iOS and how does the app work?
You can move your data to your iPhone in seconds thanks to Apple’s transfer application, available on the Google Play Store. With Move to iOS, you can transfer your contacts, messages, calendar, Gallery, Chrome data, mail accounts, health data and Home screen layout. However, you cannot transfer apps, music, videos and Android-specific files.
Here’s how to move your data from Android to iOS:
- On your iPhone, tap Move data from Android during the setup process.
- On your Android device, open the Move to iOS app.
- Accept the terms and conditions and tap Next on both devices.
- A 6- or 10-digit code appears on your iPhone. Enter the code on your Android device.
- Select the content you want to transfer, such as contacts, messages, photos, and calendar.
- Tap Next on both devices.
- The transfer will begin. Depending on the amount of content you are transferring, this may take a few minutes.
- When the transfer is complete, tap Done on both devices.
For this data migration, your Android device must be running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later. Your iPhone must also be running iOS 12 or later. Note that both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
