The popular Amazon Prime Video series The Boys is set to premiere its 4th season on June 13. Last month, the series’ executive producer Eric Kripke announced that the 5th season had been approved even before the new season aired. Today, following the exciting news, Kripke shared the bad news about the series finale on his X account. Here are the details…
The Boys will bid farewell after the 5th season…
This week, The Boys will meet its audience with the 4th season, and now we know when the series will end. Eric Kripke announced on his X account that the series would conclude with the 5th season.
In his statement, the popular series’ executive producer Eric Kripke used the following words: “Since The Boys’ 4th season is about to start, it’s a good time to announce this: the 5th season will be the final season! This has always been my plan, I just had to be secretive until we got the final approval from Vought. I’m excited to bring the story to a bloody, epic, and wet climax. Watch the 4th season in 2 days because the end has begun!”
Kripke also included the heavily redacted last page of the 4th season finale script in his post. The only part of the script that wasn’t blacked out was the final sentence: “See you in the final season, !”
The statement from The Boys’ executive producer, which teased and intrigued the viewers, has left some fans upset. While many series are canceled due to insufficient viewership, it might be somewhat comforting to know that The Boys’ end is planned.
Based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys first met the audience in 2019. Now one of Prime Video’s biggest hits, Amazon could likely have approved dozens of seasons for The Boys.
However, the worst thing that can happen to a series is to be forcibly continued just because many people are watching it. Therefore, you can start raising your expectations for The Boys’ finale. Because when a popular series has a planned finale, anything can happen in that season.
What do you think about The Boys ending in the 5th season? Do you think it’s too soon or just right? Don’t forget to share your thoughts with us…
