Huawei, a significant player in the smartphone market, recently unveiled its new Mate 60 Pro model. The brand released this new model in its home country, China. With its features, the Mate 60 Pro gained momentum in the market, surpassing the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Here are the details:
Huawei Mate 60 Pro outsells iPhone 15 Pro Max!
For a long time, Huawei has been struggling with sanctions imposed by the United States in recent years. Experiencing a significant setback in the phone market, the brand has begun to focus on its own production to overcome these sanctions. Recently, Huawei seems to be returning to its former days.
According to data from research firm Counterpoint, within 1.5 months, Huawei sold 1.6 million units of the Mate 60 Pro in its home country, China. More than 400,000 of these sales occurred in the last two weeks. Thus, the Mate 60 Pro outperformed Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max by 10%.
Moreover, the tech giant is facing supply issues for the Mate 60 Pro, indicating insufficient stock. Therefore, despite the stock problem, this phone, which has entered the list of best-sellers, could dominate the market once supply issues are resolved. The data also supports this.
Huawei has surpassed Apple in China. It’s worth mentioning that Huawei is somewhat fortunate in this regard. According to consumers, the iPhone 15 series didn’t generate much excitement compared to the iPhone 14 series introduced last year. In contrast, the Mate 60 series had the opposite effect.
Huawei’s overtaking of Apple in China will further intensify the significant competition between the two brands. This competition seems poised to gain momentum globally as well. We will see this unfold in the coming periods.
