In the past weeks, Elon Musk changed the name and logo of the application we’ve always known as Twitter. This news, creating a bombshell effect, left numerous users astonished. Additionally, Musk transformed both the name and logo of Twitter to “X.”

Musk’s made these changes have drawn reactions from many users. Furthermore, users have made numerous posts requesting the return of Twitter’s old name and bird logo. However, there has been no explanation regarding why the platform’s name and logo were changed.

Elon Musk is trying to get the Twitter brand out of office. Dozens of iconic items were put up for sale after the X rebranding.

Under its new name, X CEO Linda Yaccarino made a statement in recent days. In this statement, she explained why the company decided to remove the name Twitter. The CEO stated that this decision aligns with Elon Musk’s vision for the application.

“Elon has been talking about X, an all-encompassing app, for a long time. When we announced my joining the company, I was coming on board to partner with Elon to transform Twitter into X, an ‘everything’ app,” she said.

Linda Yaccarino, who became the CEO of Twitter in June, also stated that she had been working towards this since Musk’s acquisition of Twitter. Additionally, the CEO emphasized the company’s plans to enable payments among users, friends, and content creators.

“The rebranding truly represented a liberation from Twitter. A freedom that allows us to leave behind an old mindset and ideology. (…) It will change how we come together, have fun, and transact, all on a single platform.”
