Netflix has accelerated its work for the beloved anime adaptation. According to the company’s latest announcement, filming has begun for the second season of One Piece. So what does Netflix One Piece season 2 promise? What will happen in the following episodes of the series?
When will Netflix One Piece season 2 be released?
Netflix rolled up its sleeves for the One Piece series, which made a big impact with its first season. Announcing that season 2 production has started, the platform stated that it is preparing to start shooting with its core cast. Accordingly, the pirate ship set in South Africa was reactivated.
Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar, who play Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, have teamed up to continue the adventure. The adaptation, which will follow the manga/anime series, will also cover key moments in the story in Season 2.
Netflix also announced that new names have joined the team with season 2. These include David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3 and Clive Russell as Crocus. Other new cast members include Jazzara Jaslyn as Ms. Valentine, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5 and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9.
Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Jeff Ward and Michael Dorman will continue to reprise their roles as Alvida, Buggy and Gold Roger at the start of Season 2. In this context, it is possible to say that the cast will expand in the new season.
Netflix stated that the second season will consist of eight episodes. No official date was given, but Netflix plans to release the second season in 2025.
