What does iOS / iPadOS 17.6 developer beta promise?
Apple opened the first beta versions of iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6 updates to developers. The software updates come nearly a month after iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 were released in May.
The new beta includes many of the important features announced for iOS 17. This includes changes to the App Store for EU countries and more customization options. However, it was not shared which changes or new features will be included in iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6.
Developers can download beta versions for Apple devices by going to Settings > Software Update > Beta Updates. To access and install developer betas, you must be a member of the Apple Developer Program.
Apple has shifted its development focus to this operating system with iOS 18, which was announced at WWDC. Therefore, no major feature updates are expected for iOS 17 other than bug fixes and fixing performance issues.
On the other hand, it is possible that the first beta version of iOS 18 will be distributed in the coming weeks. Although it will bring many innovations, it should be reminded that you may experience performance and optimization issues due to the beta version.
