The Exynos 2600 made Apple jealous

Samsung’s next-generation flagship processor, the Exynos 2600, has generated significant buzz in the tech world with its single-core performance, demonstrated during its engineering phase. The company’s first chipset to be produced with the 2-nanometer GAA (Gate-All-Around) architecture, the Exynos 2600 achieved the same level as Apple’s powerful M5 chip in Geekbench 6 tests.

The results confirmed the Exynos 2600’s ten-core (1+3+6) CPU design with a three-cluster layout. The most powerful core clocked at 4.20 GHz, while the three performance cores clocked at 3.56 GHz and the six efficiency cores clocked at 2.76 GHz. According to the shared data, the Exynos 2600 achieved a single-core score of 4,217 and a multi-core score of 13,482 in Geekbench 6.

These scores represent a significant improvement over the processor’s previous engineering sample results. In previous tests, the chip achieved a single-core score of 3,455 and a multi-core score of 11,621. The new version provides a 22 percent improvement in single-core performance and a 16 percent improvement in multi-core performance.

By comparison, the Apple M5 appears to have a slight lead, scoring 4,263 in the same test and 17,862 in the multi-core test. Samsung’s chip, at this engineering sample stage, demonstrated single-core performance comparable to Apple’s desktop chip.

The Exynos 2600 is reportedly not only powerful but also highly power efficient. Previous reports have suggested that the new 2nm chip consumes 59 percent less power than the Apple A19 Pro processor.

While this data is only from an engineering sample, it’s clear that Samsung has tested its new 2nm GAA architecture to its limits. The performance of the final and mature version of the Exynos 2600 is expected to be revealed with more definitive results before the Galaxy S26 series launch, which is expected to be introduced in February 2026.
