Reports about the upcoming Galaxy S24 series, expected to be showcased in the coming year, continue to surface. The latest piece of information suggests that the South Korean company will bridge the significant gap between the Galaxy S24+ and the S24 Ultra, particularly in terms of criteria like the display. So, what can smartphone users expect from this?
Galaxy S24+ will approach Ultra with screen performance
Ice Universe, known for leaking information in the industry, has revealed the screen specifications of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24+. According to this information, the smartphone will feature 3120 x 1440 WQHD+ panels, a departure from the previous models’ 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution screens. This implies that the device will offer performance close to the high-end Ultra model, particularly in areas like the display.
The smartphone is likely to have a thickness of 7.7 mm and weigh 195 grams. Additionally, it’s said to come with two processor variants: the Exynos 2400 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, depending on different markets. Thanks to Qualcomm’s agreement with Samsung, we witnessed last year that the “for Galaxy” version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which was a specially enhanced and more powerful version, was used in the Galaxy S23 models.
The specifications and performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that will be used in the Galaxy S24 series have been revealed. The chip consists of 8 cores: 1×3.30 GHz Cortex X4, 3×3.15 GHz Cortex A720, 2×2.96 GHz Cortex A720, and 2×2.27 GHz Cortex A520. On the graphics side, it employs the Adreno 750 GPU.
It’s worth noting that the model surfaced in the Geekbench database in the past weeks. It even appeared with an 8 GB RAM option. Whether there will be different memory configurations remains to be seen. Lastly, it will be powered by a 4855 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.
