The third game in the Killing Floor series has been delayed before its planned release date. The popular horror-action game, which Tripwire Interactive is preparing to return after a long hiatus, will require players to wait a little longer.
The highly anticipated Killing Floor 3 has been delayed
Developed as a mod for Unreal Tournament in 2005 and quickly becoming an independent game, Killing Floor managed to appeal to a large audience with its gameplay based on survival against waves of mutant creatures and co-op mechanics. The series, which has gained acclaim with its fast-paced action, wide range of weapons and deep skill system, has been on the back burner for a while, but Tripwire Interactive announced that they were working on a new game.
Released in 2016, Killing Floor 2 attracted attention with its six-person co-op mode, realistic visual effects and detailed character customization options and received very positive feedback. However, the studio chose to take a break from the series after this success and focus on other projects.
After a while, Tripwire, who noticed the interest of the fans, officially announced Killing Floor 3 in 2023. The game, which was developed with Unreal Engine 5 and attracted attention with its dark atmosphere, was expected to be released on March 25. However, the studio decided to postpone the game weeks before its release.
Tripwire Interactive stated that they found that the game fell behind expectations in some technical aspects during the closed beta process held in the past weeks. For this reason, they announced that they had to postpone the production to a date that has not yet been determined.
