Good news and bad news for the iPhone 15 Pro!

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

Apple is expecting to release the iPhone 15 series in September of this year. Even before the products have been officially unveiled, there have been leaks from reliable sources. So, we can already make some educated guesses about what the iPhone 15 series will be like. Now, another leak has surfaced, suggesting that the iPhone 15 Pro may come with a titanium body. However, this could have a negative impact on the user. How so?

The iPhone 15 Pro will come with a titanium body

Apple may opt for titanium over stainless steel for the frames of the iPhone 15 Pro models, as it is lighter but more expensive. Moreover, industry insider Mark Gurman, who is well-known for his leaks, claims that the iPhone 15 Pro models will have thinner bezels compared to previous models due to a new manufacturing technology called “low-pressure overmolding” or LIPO.

It appears that this new technology is expected to reduce the frames around the screens of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models from approximately 2.2mm to around 1.5mm. The technology was initially used with the Apple Watch Series 7 a few years ago and is also anticipated to be implemented in future iPads. In his Sunday weekly newsletter, Gurman shared this information with users but also delivered some bad news.

He mentioned that Apple is expected to raise the prices of all four models in overseas markets, indicating that these changes may come at a cost. Even in the United States, the company might increase the prices of at least “some pro models” to compensate for the transition to titanium and the improved camera system in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. So, the titanium body and thinner frames may result in slightly higher costs for European countries.

iPhone 15 Pro to feature customizable “Action” button

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models may have a new "Action" button instead of the Ring/Silent switch. Here's the detail.

Gurman also reiterated that all four iPhone 15 models will have the Dynamic Island (the camera system embedded in the screen in the shape of a pill), which we saw in the iPhone 14 Pro, and it will remove the notch that is still present in the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Lastly, the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be powered by the A16 chip, which is carried over from last year’s Pro models. As for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, they are said to come with a 3-nanometer chip that Gurman believes will be “significantly faster.”
