The legendary Skoda model has evolved

Ana sayfa / News

Skoda has added a new member to its “Icons Get a Makeover” series, which reimagines popular models from the past with a modern twist. This time, the brand has digitally revived the legendary 110 R coupe from the 1970s with an electric and futuristic interpretation.

The original 110 R, launched in 1970, sold more than 57,000 units over a ten-year production run. In the new digital concept, the four-cylinder gasoline engine at the rear of the vehicle is replaced by an electric motor. The concept transcends retro lines and is generally shaped by the brand’s new Modern Solid design language.

The futuristic design features retractable headlights, fluid body lines, hidden sensors, and digital side mirrors. The side door handles are absent. Instead, the air intakes and the classic S 110 R badge at the rear pay homage to the past. The single-lug wheels and hood vents are reminiscent of the 130 RS.

While technical data hasn’t been released, Skoda’s emphasis on lightweight design is striking. The original 110 R weighed just 880 kilograms and, with its 52-horsepower engine, was a car with a distinct character.

This digital study demonstrates how well Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language fits into a coupe body style. However, the real-world implementation of such a model currently seems unlikely.
