Lenovo is entering the scene with its new laptop, the Yoga Slim 7x, which will rival the MacBook Air. This new model is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite chip, offering both performance and power efficiency. Here are its features…
Lenovo’s MacBook Air competitor Yoga Slim 7x features
The Yoga Slim 7x stands out with its 14-inch 3K 90Hz OLED display and sleek aluminum chassis. The screen covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers 500 nits of brightness. At the top of the screen is Lenovo’s signature communication tab, which supports FHD webcam and IR sensors for Windows Hello. It also has four microphones while remaining sufficiently thin.
Weighing just 1.28 kg, the Slim 7x is only slightly heavier than the 13-inch MacBook Air and half a kilo lighter than the 15-inch model. However, at 1.3 cm thick, it is not as thin as Apple’s competitors. Despite the Snapdragon X Elite chip’s power efficiency, unlike the MacBook Air, the Slim 7x has special fans for cooling.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x features three USB-C 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, and a powerful four-speaker system. It also has a keyboard with a 1.5 mm key travel distance, which is usually not found in such thin systems, making typing quite enjoyable. Supporting all these is a large 70Wh battery, significantly larger than the 58Wh battery in the ThinkPad T14s.
We still have limited information about the performance and application compatibility of the Snapdragon X Elite on Windows 11. Additionally, the impact of Microsoft’s new Copilot+ features remains to be seen. However, it will be exciting to see what Lenovo can achieve with the next-generation ARM-based processors.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x laptop is expected to be available in June, starting at $1,199. For those looking for a new laptop, the Yoga Slim 7x is definitely worth considering.
