Windows 11 login method changes

Ana sayfa / Technology

Microsoft continues its work on Windows 11. As part of these efforts, the company has released a test build to members of the Windows Insider program. One of the most notable features in this test build is the support for a technology that allows logging into applications and websites without the need for entering a password. This technology includes fingerprint and facial recognition for signing in to Windows 11. Here are the details:

In Windows 11, it will be possible to log in using fingerprint and facial recognition

Microsoft has released build number 23486 of Windows 11 to members of the Windows Insider program. The most notable feature in this build is the support for a dongle technology that eliminates the need for entering passwords when signing in to applications and websites.

Windows Insider users can create a security key with a PIN code using Windows Hello. With this new feature, it will also be possible to create a fingerprint or facial recognition-based security key. This security key can then be used for identity verification in applications and websites.

Moment 3 lands on Windows 11! A hiccup looms

The much-anticipated Windows 11 Moment 3 update is finally here, though it comes with an optional tag. Here's why caution is suggested.

With the new feature, a user can enter a website that supports this feature and set up a new authentication method. They can then use their preferred security key for authentication. To access the security key, you can make the settings in the Accounts section under the Security Keys section.

This enhances security and significantly speeds up logins. However, for the process to be used, it needs to be fully supported by websites and applications. Microsoft Edge browser has long supported basic internet identity authentication standards using security keys.

However, adding support for this technology to Windows Hello would make it easier for users to manage their data at the operating system level. Additionally, the use of security keys is considered one of the most secure authentication methods.
