Tesla, led by CEO Elon Musk, is renowned for its electric vehicles, which have disrupted the automotive industry and kept the company at the forefront. However, it appears that Tesla has not had the same level of success with its Cybertruck model. Finally, after much anticipation, Tesla has enabled Full Self-Driving (FSD) support for the electric truck—at least for some of them.
Tesla Cybertruck Gains Full Self-Driving Support
Tesla’s highly anticipated truck, the Cybertruck, was finally released last year. Even though it had thousands of pre-orders, it initially lacked one of its most crucial features—Tesla’s well-known and highly sought-after Full Self-Driving (FSD) support. Nearly ten months after its release, FSD has now been activated for the Tesla Cybertruck.
The vehicle had faced several delays before its launch, increasing expectations over time. Despite starting deliveries on November 30th, reports suggest that the Cybertruck didn’t quite meet expectations. Tests indicated that the truck didn’t live up to its promised toughness.
While Tesla’s earlier models like the Model 3 and Model Y featured all of Tesla’s capabilities, including Full Self-Driving, the Cybertruck was initially released without this feature. The smaller size of the Model 3 and Y may have allowed for the inclusion of this feature more easily, but it appears Tesla has now reworked the software for the larger Cybertruck.
The newly activated Full Self-Driving support has been marked as “Early Access” and is currently only available on some vehicles. The latest version, labeled FSD 12.5.5, has been rolled out. According to Tesla’s roadmap, this long-awaited feature has finally been delivered.
