TalkBack stands out as an accessibility feature that helps visually impaired or low-vision individuals interact with Android devices through touch and voice feedback. However, the feature, enriched with artificial intelligence capabilities from Gemini, will not be available for Samsung One UI. Here’s the reason why…
Samsung One UI Misses Out on TalkBack
To enhance the TalkBack feature, Google recently decided to integrate Gemini, an AI technology, aiming to improve the user experience by providing voice descriptions for images.
However, according to reports from Google, this update will not be available for all Android devices. Unfortunately, bad news has arrived for Samsung users: Google’s new TalkBack feature will not be included on devices running Samsung’s One UI.
Samsung uses its own set of accessibility tools, independent of Google’s Android Accessibility Suite, to control the accessibility experience on Galaxy devices. As a result, Google’s TalkBack updates, including those powered by Gemini, will not be available on Samsung devices.
This limitation was confirmed by Android Authority, a source close to Google, which stated that Samsung users would miss out on the Gemini-supported TalkBack update.
For Samsung users, this restriction could be a significant drawback for those expecting more diversity and innovation in accessibility features. Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter in the comments or on our social media accounts.
