The number of vehicles recalled with potential malfunctions in the USA in the first half of 2024 has been announced. There is a name at the top of the list that has recalled more vehicles than its rival brands combined. So, which is the most problematic automobile brand of 2024?
The brand with the most recall requests in 2024 was Ford!
Ford, which was at the top of the recall figures this year, requested a total of 31 recalls in six months. Potential malfunctions affecting a total of 3 million 660 thousand 752 vehicles made Ford this year’s most problematic brand or the brand with the most recall requests. Tesla, known for its electric cars, ranked second on the list. Tesla, which aims to control 2 million 552 thousand 178 vehicles with 8 recall notices, ranked second on the list due to potential malfunctions.
While Honda and Toyota, known for their trouble-free cars, filled the fifth and sixth places on the list of potentially problematic cars for 2024, the brands recalled 1 million 81 thousand 882 and 1 million 12 thousand 730 vehicles, respectively. Compared to these brands, Volkswagen and General Motors brands, which are known to be more problematic, performed better than Japanese brands with 725 thousand and 655 thousand sales, respectively.
Again, this was the situation between BMW and Mercedes. While BMW affected 90 thousand vehicles with 11 recall requests, Mercedes invited 330 thousand vehicles to its service with 14 recall requests.
Of course, the size of these figures does not mean that companies actually produce problematic cars. Likewise, Ford’s sales figures are not the same as those of brands such as Volkswagen, GM and BMW. As sales figures increase, the number of recalled vehicles also increases. Still, the number of vehicles Ford has recalled in the US is more than BMW, Toyota, GM, Honda and Volkswagen combined.
