Intel aims to continue its rise in the 12th generation Alder Lake family with the 13th generation Raptor Lake series. The Intel i5-13600HX performance test results released today revealed that the chip with the increased number of cores made a difference to its competitors and predecessors.
Intel i5-13600HX performs well in performance tests
Some test results that have emerged in the past months have revealed the potential of Intel’s new Raptor Lake series. Here, it was revealed that the new generation processors make a difference between 38 and 70 percent according to different usage scenarios such as games and applications.
Today, the performance test for the Intel i5-13600HX has emerged. Of course, some unknown features of the processor also appeared here. For example, its predecessor, the i5-12600H, introduced last year, had 16 threads along with 12 cores.
But Intel is breaking that balance with the i5-13600HX. The new chip has 14 cores, of which 4 are on performance and 8 on efficiency. There are 20 threads in total. This means that it ranks at the top of the mobile processors in the middle-upper class. At this point, we can say that it is a very exciting development. In fact, it is expected by the authorities to use this chip alongside powerful graphics cards such as RTX 4070 and 4080 in many gamer computers that will be introduced next year. But not without mentioning the biggest minus, the power consumption.
Intel’s new favorite i5-13600HX is expected to have a TDP of 55W. Considering the increased core count and improved performance, this is an acceptable value that isn’t too high. Of course, this chip should be evaluated according to its performance class as well as mobile.
Because the TDP values of the most powerful chips such as the i9-13900K can go up to 350W. It is even possible to increase this value much higher by overclocking.
