Artificial intelligence, which is now at the center of our lives, could become much more expensive to use in the near future. The next model of ChatGPT set to hit the market might come with a surprisingly high price tag. Here are the details…
ChatGPT might cost $2,000!
OpenAI is reportedly considering high-priced subscriptions for its next-generation AI models. These plans are said to include projects like the reasoning model code-named “Strawberry” and the new model code-named “Orion,” which follows GPT-4o.
According to information from The Information, OpenAI executives are thinking of charging users around $2,000 to access these advanced AI models. However, it’s not yet clear whether this fee would cover a specific time period.
To put things in perspective, ChatGPT Premium currently costs $20 per month, providing users access to OpenAI’s most advanced model, GPT-4o.
In July, Bloomberg reported that OpenAI had defined a five-stage AI innovation process. The first stage covers chatbot models like GPT-4o, while the second is defined as reasoning models with human-level problem-solving abilities.
OpenAI is known to be heavily focused on a reasoning model named “Strawberry,” which is expected to solve complex problems through a multi-step process and overcome challenges, such as difficult mathematical problems, that current models struggle with.
Additionally, there are rumors that OpenAI is working on a new large language model code-named “Orion.” Strawberry is said to be used to produce high-quality data for Orion’s training, potentially reducing errors like hallucinations.
According to The Information‘s report, ChatGPT Premium is expected to generate $2 billion annually, but this amount might not be enough to cover the platform’s operational costs. Therefore, we may need to prepare for AI usage fees reaching thousands of dollars in the near future…
