Realme is preparing to make a move that will be talked about a lot in the smartphone industry with its new flagship GT 8 Pro. According to rumors, the new model may come with a huge battery capacity of 8000mAh. However, the larger battery could also lead to longer charging times. Here are the details…
How long will the Realme GT 8 Pro model’s giant battery with 8000mAh capacity charge?
The current GT 7 Pro was highly appreciated by users with its 6500mAh Titan Battery. In fact, despite a large battery, the device can be fully charged in just 37 minutes thanks to 120W SuperVOOC fast charging technology. However, the GT 8 Pro’s larger battery may cause an increase in charging times:
- With a 7000mAh capacity, charging time is 42 minutes (120W fast charging).
- With a 7500mAh capacity, charging time is 55 minutes (100W fast charging).
- With an 8000mAh capacity, charging time can increase to a full 70 minutes (80W fast charging).
So the bigger battery means that users will have to accept longer charging times. However, Realme thinks that the advantages of the big battery will make up for it. Realme’s most notable shortcoming is the lack of wireless charging support.
While its competitors OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15 Pro offer wireless charging feature in their models powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Realme’s omission of this feature is criticized. However, Realme seems to have put wireless charging on the back burner by focusing on battery capacity for now.
The Realme GT 8 Pro’s battery is powered by silicon-carbon anode technology. This technology enables higher capacity batteries to last longer and work more efficiently. In other words, it also emphasizes that the battery is much more durable. However, the lack of wireless charging may be a reason for preference.
In short, how successful this model will be in the market depends on whether users will accept longer charging times in exchange for a larger battery. So, do you think battery capacity is more important or charging speed? Don’t forget to share your comments with us.
