We’ve entered a fast-paced era for the Android market. Competition will intensify, especially with the upcoming launch of new flagship processors from Qualcomm and MediaTek, two giants in the mobile chip world. Qualcomm’s highly anticipated new chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, will be unveiled on September 22nd. Now, the new chipset has broken an AnTuTu record. Here are the details.

According to information shared by Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s AnTuTu v11 test scores are already impressive. The processor achieved a score between 4.20 and 4.40 million in this test, the highest AnTuTu score ever seen on a mobile processor.

MediaTek, another player in this competitive market, is not sitting idle. The upcoming Dimensity 9500 chip recently demonstrated its impressive performance by scoring 4,011,932 points in a Vivo X300 Pro prototype.

According to previous reports, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will feature two core clusters: two main cores clocked at 4.61 GHz and six performance cores clocked at 3.63 GHz. It will be paired with a 1.2 GHz Adreno 840 GPU for graphics performance, providing a significant boost, particularly for gaming and AI tasks.

Meanwhile, the Dimensity 9500 utilizes an all-high-performance core architecture, with four Cortex-X930 and four Cortex-A730 cores. Vivo has confirmed that this chip worked directly with Arm in its design and will support the SME2 instruction set.

The first phones to use the new flagship processors are also beginning to be revealed. The Xiaomi 16 series will be the first devices to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while Vivo’s X300 series will launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. Both phone series are expected to be unveiled this month.
