The new Volkswagen T-Roc R is coming

Ana sayfa / News

Volkswagen is preparing to unveil the second-generation T-Roc R in 2027. Production of the vehicle will begin in October 2027. The new performance model will be based on the engine used in the current Golf R and will be powered by a 48V mild hybrid system.

This electric boost does not increase the engine’s output beyond 328 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Instead, it ensures the vehicle complies with Euro 7 emissions standards.

The most significant change to the T-Roc R is the vehicle’s transition to the MQB Evo platform, which is also used in the current Passat, Tiguan, and Golf models. The new platform offers a wider track, resulting in better cornering grip.

The new T-Roc R will also feature stiffer springs from the Golf GTI Edition 50. The vehicle will be equipped with twenty-inch wheels and 245-millimeter-wide performance tires, thirty millimeters wider than its predecessor.

Camouflage prototype photos reveal that the new R model will feature distinctive design details such as more aggressive front and rear bumpers. Volkswagen exterior design director Stefan Wallburg states that the R models should be more distinctly distinguished from the R-Line trim.

The interior is reportedly equipped with the model’s own digital instrument graphics and sporty touches. Meanwhile, the updated standard T-Roc model is expected to arrive on the Turkish market in February 2026.
