For years, The Office, one of the first television comedy series that comes to mind, is returning to the screens with a new version after a long hiatus. This sequel, titled The Paper, will premiere on Peacock on September 4th. The series is being developed by the same team who brought the original series to life, but this time, it focuses on completely new characters and a different setting.

The new series takes place in a former newspaper office struggling with financial difficulties. As in The Office, the events are told in a mockumentary format. Domhnall Gleeson stars in the lead role. He is joined by Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. The only recognizable actor from the original series is Oscar Nuñez. Years later, the same character will return to the new Office, this time as Oscar Martinez.
The Paper doesn’t feature The Office’s iconic characters. With no appearances from figures like Michael Scott, Jim Halpert, or Dwight Schrute, it remains unclear how the series will be received by its loyal audience. However, the return of Greg Daniels, the man behind the series, is boosting anticipation for the project.
