The price of the affordable Apple Vision leaked online

According to the latest news from Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Apple is preparing to launch its more affordable “Apple Vision” headset early next year. Gurman says this new headset will be available for around $2000. Here are the most important and most striking details on this much talked about topic…

Apple unveiled the $3499 Apple Vision Pro earlier this year, but it looks like the company is still working quickly on the next model. Some reports earlier this year suggested that Apple had halted development of the Vision Pro to focus on the cheaper headset, and that still seems to be the case – possibly because the Vision Pro’s high price tag puts spatial computing out of reach for many.

Gurman says the lower-priced headset will likely use a lower-end processor and cheaper materials. The Vision Pro is currently equipped with an M2 chip, so we think Apple could put an A-series chipset like the A18 Pro – which is almost as fast as an M1 – in the cheaper headset. In terms of materials, it’s likely that more plastic will be used, rather than all aluminum and glass.

Xiaomi Smart Band 9 review: Is it worth buying?

Now in its 9th generation, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is here.

The report also says that the headset will probably not include EyeSight, a feature introduced in the Apple Vision Pro that uses lensed displays that allow users to see through their eyes to the outside of the headset, allowing them to still “see” the eyes of people around them. It seemed a bit gimmicky to me, but it was an interesting feature. However, it was costly to have another screen outside, and that screen won’t be on the cheaper headset. Apple reportedly expects the cheaper Apple Vision headset to sell twice as many units as the Apple Vision Pro, which isn’t saying much. Apple Vision Pro 2 is also set to launch in 2026 with a faster chipset.
