Raspberry Pi has introduced a new member of its popular touchscreen series. A smaller, more compact version of the recently released Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2, the 5-inch model is now available for $40. This new model is $20 less than the 7-inch version released last year.
The Touch Display 2 is here with a new version
The new 5-inch display features a multi-touch capacitive panel with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and five-finger touch support. It integrates seamlessly with the Raspberry Pi operating system and, thanks to its plug-and-play functionality, works right out of the box with full Linux driver support.
The display is powered directly from the host Raspberry Pi. Users don’t need to purchase any additional cables or hardware, as all necessary cables, connectors, and mounting hardware are included.
This new model offers nearly the same features as the 7-inch version, except for size and price. In addition to the 7-inch model, currently sold for $60, a 5-inch version is now available to Raspberry Pi users for $40.
The new 5-inch display, thanks to its compact design, is an ideal option for smaller projects. For developers working in areas such as embedded systems, portable devices, and wearable technologies, this display takes up less space, allowing them to reduce the overall size of their projects.
Thanks to the extensive software and hardware support within the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, users can develop much more creative and functional projects using this new display. Despite its small size, the high resolution and touch sensitivity it offers do not compromise the user experience.
