The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming to PS5 on January 19, 2024
The remaster version will come with a number of improvements, including improved loading times, 4K graphics in the console’s ‘fidelity’ mode, and seamless integration with the PS5’s innovative DualSense controller .
One of the highlights of this remaster version is the introduction of a new game mode called “No Return”. Described as a rogue-like survival mode, “No Return” challenges players to engage in a series of random encounters, allowing them to chart their own route through the game.
Increasing the excitement even further, in this mode players will have the opportunity to take on the roles of unlockable characters never seen before in the series. This dynamic change adds new excitement to the gaming experience, inviting players to try different playing styles and strategies. Additionally, a global leaderboard will allow players to compete against each other and establish their dominance in the challenging No Return mode.
Quality of life improvements aside, the remaster will also offer fans the first versions of three new levels not found in the original game. In addition, players will also be able to see the creators’ thoughts through recorded comments during the game’s cutscenes.
Director Neil Druckmann, narrative lead Halley Gross, and esteemed actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey will provide insight and anecdotes, providing a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on the development of this critically acclaimed play.
