HBO continues to expand its Game of Thrones universe. Following House of the Dragon, the channel has released the first full-length trailer for its highly anticipated new series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series will premiere in January 2026.

The new series is based on the “Dunk & Egg” book series by author George R.R. Martin. The story takes place approximately 100 years before the events of the original Game of Thrones series.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk), one of Westeros’ legendary knights, and his young squire, Egg. Egg is the young Aegon V Targaryen, one of the Targaryen family’s potential claimants to the throne.
The series will follow the duo’s journeys throughout Westeros. Through these adventures, viewers will gain a deeper understanding of Westeros’ order and history before the wars over the throne.
The series stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan Tall, aka Dunk. Dexter Sol Ansell plays his young squire, Egg. The other actors and their roles are: Finn Bennett (Aerion Targaryen), Bertie Carvel (Baelor Targaryen), Tanzyn Crawford (Tanselle), Daniel Ings (Ser Lyonel Baratheon), and Sam Spruell (Maekar Targaryen).
