CD Projekt RED (CDPR) has announced that the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 has reached a significant stage in development. The company announced that it has completed the pre-production phase of development on the new Witcher game, codenamed “Polaris,” and is preparing to move into full production. More than a third of the studio’s staff is currently focused on the project.

CDPR co-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated that this progress is a big milestone for the studio. At the same time, he confirmed that this project is just the beginning and that this new game will be the first part of a completely new AAA-level RPG trilogy.

The developers state that unlike previous games in the Witcher series, this new game will have “new gameplay elements and mechanics.” The Witcher 4 will be the first Witcher game to use Unreal Engine 5. CDPR also emphasized that they are aware of some of the issues with Unreal Engine 5 and are working with Epic Games to make this engine work more smoothly in The Witcher 4.

The start of full production for The Witcher 4, which has a great place in the hearts of game lovers, is very pleasing news. It is a fact that new developments make Witcher fans even more impatient. With new mechanics and gameplay elements, we are eagerly waiting to see how The Witcher 4 will differ from previous games.
