Before this console’s announcement, PlayStation was making headlines with its next-generation devices. Leaks claim the PlayStation 6 will be powered by a CPU/GPU unit jointly developed by AMD and Sony. This unit is rumored to contain eight Zen 6 cores and between 40 and 48 RDNA 5 CUs.
The PS6 is reportedly slated to have a 160W TBP and could come with either 160-bit or 192-bit GDDR7 memory. Sony is also rumored to be working on a portable console alongside the PS6, which is claimed to be capable of running PS5 and PS4 games. It is stated that this device can offer a rasterization performance half that of the PS5 with a 15W TBP.
