In recent years, Microsoft has made significant investments in cloud-based gaming with Xbox Cloud Gaming, and they continue to expand by partnering with Amazon Fire TV. The app, which will allow Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members from 25 countries to play games via the cloud, is soon to be available for Fire TV owners.
Microsoft announced their collaboration with Amazon, stating that the Xbox app will be available on Fire TV devices in July.
The Xbox Ecosystem Continues to Expand
In today’s announcement from Microsoft, the company expressed its aim to bring the Xbox experience to as many places as possible, which includes a new partnership with Amazon. Through this agreement, the Xbox app will be available on Fire TV devices starting in July.
The Xbox app will work on both the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Stick 4K. This new feature targets an audience that may not be very familiar with console gaming, offering a budget-friendly and mobile gaming experience.
Microsoft stated that to get started, all you need is a Fire TV Stick and any Bluetooth-supported controller to begin gaming via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Games like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Starfield, and other Bethesda titles will be readily available for players.
How to Play Games with the Xbox App:
- Download and launch the Xbox app from your Fire TV device.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account and start playing. If you are an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member, you will have instant access to hundreds of cloud-based games.
- If you are not a member, you can join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a low monthly fee or try Fortnite without a membership.
- Connect a wireless Bluetooth controller. Compatible controllers include the Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense, or DualShock 4.
- Start playing!
