In 2022, Samsung made a significant decision to provide four generations of One UI and Android updates, along with five years of security patches, for models released after the Galaxy S21 series. As of 2024, the company has once again revised its update strategy, announcing that flagship devices starting with the Galaxy S24 series will receive a full seven years of updates, while mid-range models like the Galaxy A16 5G will be supported for six years.
