The continuous development of technology brings solutions to important problems one by one. At this point, Google is one of the companies doing important work. The company, which equips Android smartphones with important innovations, has recently introduced another new feature: Theft Detection Lock. So what does this feature do? Here’s all you need to know…
What is Theft Detection Lock for Android?
This feature, which Google previously announced that it would come later in 2024, has recently started to be used in Brazil. This feature, which is expected to be available in other countries soon, will make it very difficult for phone thieves.
Theft Detection Lock, which will be activated when your phone is stolen, will lock the device to protect the data on your device. This will prevent your important information from being passed on to someone else.
“So how will the feature recognize if the phone is stolen?” we hear you ask. According to the information, Google has developed an algorithm for this. By detecting suspicious activity on the phone, for example, if the device suddenly and quickly changes its location, this feature will be automatically activated.
If the Android phone is locked despite not being stolen, it is possible to unlock it by verifying it again. The Theft Detection Lock feature will be available for all devices with Android 10 or higher. It is unclear when it will be released in our country.
