The countdown has officially begun for Rockstar Games’ new installment in the record-breaking GTA series. Since December 2023, Rockstar has maintained a silence, continuing to develop the game behind closed doors. So far, official details have been quite limited. However, new leaks about the game are emerging daily. The latest developments reveal the potential price tag for the game.
GTA 6 Allegedly Set to be More Expensive Than Expected
Reliable industry sources claim that Rockstar Games is set to sell GTA 6 for $100 or more. According to rumors, the developer plans to persuade players to pay these high prices by offering large amounts of in-game currency to spend in GTA Online.

It is said that Rockstar Games will adopt the strategy used by Activision with the Call of Duty series. In other words, in order to convince players to pay these elevated prices, many advantages will be offered in the online portion of the game.
In the past, there were numerous rumors about the game being sold for $150. Unfortunately, reports suggesting the game will be more expensive than expected are largely being confirmed. Of course, it’s important to remember that these are just rumors, and waiting for an official announcement is the best course of action.
XUruguay, the online game store, briefly listed the release date of GTA 6 as September 17, 2025. This date coincides with the 12th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V’s release. It also aligns with Rockstar’s previously announced “fall 2025” release window. However, the store later removed this information.
