The CrowdStrike crisis, which affected hundreds of companies, including Microsoft, on Friday, has also become a topic of discussion on social media. Musk, who did not want to miss this trend, did not neglect to make fun of both CrowdStrike and Microsoft services.

Many large organizations have experienced problems accessing key Microsoft services such as Office 365, Azure and Windows authentication. Hundreds of companies, including airlines, banks and health services, also suffered outages.

The crash issues were caused by the Falcon security tool that CrowdStrike uses to protect Windows-based systems. Falcon reportedly crashed systems and caused a blue screen error for some users.

Elon Musk made several posts about the outage affecting Microsoft services. He threw a smile emoji to the posts making fun of the problems with Windows servers. He also brought up the “Macrohard >> Microsoft” tweet he previously shared in 2021.

Cybersecurity expert James Bore said the problem cannot be fixed automatically and requires manual reboots of affected systems. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz acknowledged the problem in a tweet, calling it a “flaw not caused by a cyberattack.”

CrowdStrike’s disruption to Windows has shut down the operations of major companies and reaffirmed the importance of security tools in today’s digital infrastructure.
