Apple is preparing to make a significant design change in its smartphones with the iPhone 16 series. The company, which has been using horizontal or rectangular cameras for years, will change this with the iPhone 16 models. New leaked photos have revealed the iPhone 16 camera.
This is what the iPhone 16 might look like
Images surfaced on social media revealing the iPhone 16’s camera module. Apple will allegedly use vertically positioned cameras for the first time since the iPhone 12 series. This will increase the design difference between the Pro and flat models.
The photo leaked in the past hours matches the leaks that have emerged in recent months. Previously shared technical drawing images showed that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus could feature a vertical camera setup. This shows that Apple is accelerating its tests.
Moving to a vertical layout for cameras could allow for improvements like Spatial Video, which is used in Vision Pro. Currently limited to the iPhone 15 Pro, Spatial Video uses a LiDAR scanner and depth sensors to capture 3D video.
Analysts said that vertically positioned cameras will facilitate Spatial Video and augmented reality features. In addition, with the new design, the chain that has been going on for years will be broken.
According to the allegations, Apple will carry the camera design in the Samsung Galaxy series to the iPhone 16 series.
