After Google releases its regular monthly security updates, they are optimized by other Android phone manufacturers for their devices. Samsung has started rolling out the July 2024 security update. However, this time, the tech giant did something different and released the new update first for the recently introduced premium mid-range Galaxy A55. Here are the details…
Samsung’s July 2024 security update fixes many vulnerabilities
Currently available only for the Galaxy A55, the update fixes 25 vulnerabilities found in Android, according to announcements. Additionally, the package fixes 33 vulnerabilities specific to Galaxy phones and tablets, totaling 58 fixes. Four of these vulnerabilities are critical, so it’s advisable to update immediately.
Two of the security vulnerabilities fixed with the July 2024 update are found in select devices powered by the Exynos processor, such as the Exynos 9820 used in older phones like the Galaxy S10 series and some smartwatches.
While the June 2024 update was released almost at the end of the month, this time the new update was first rolled out for the Galaxy A55, which has seamless update support. It seems that the delay in receiving the update last month caused some backlash, leading to the new update being released first for the A55.
The update, with software number A556EXXS4AXF6, is currently being released in the Indian market, and it is not yet known when it will be available globally, including in Turkey. If you want to check for the update, you can go to the Software update section in the Settings app and click on the Download and Install button.
