Green NCAP, as the name suggests, tests the values ​​of cars such as exhaust emissions and carbon emissions. Thanks to these tests, the Board aims to reduce the carbon footprint of newly produced automobiles and protect the environment. Green NCAP listed the most environmentally friendly cars of last year according to the exhaust emission and carbon emission tests conducted in 2023.

The most environmentally friendly name in the fully electric cars category was ORA Funky Cat in 2023. With its Funky Cat model, the Chinese automobile manufacturer received 10 out of 10 points in the Clean Air Index test, 9.5 out of 10 in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 9.5 out of 10 in the Greenhouse Gas Index test.

The most environmentally friendly car in the diesel car category was Opel Mokka. German automobile manufacturer Opel scored 6.5 out of 10 in the Clean Air Index test, 5.8 out of 10 in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 4.8 out of 10 in the Greenhouse Gas Index test with its 1.5 diesel manual transmission Mokka.

The most environmentally friendly name in the gasoline car category is Skoda Kamiq. The 1.0 TSI Kamiq with 5-speed manual transmission scored 7 out of 10 in the Clean Air Index test, 5.2 out of 10 in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 3.8 out of 10 in the Greenhouse Gas Index test.

The winner in the Executive Car category was Tesla Model S. American manufacturer Tesla received 10 out of 10 points in the Clean Air Index test, 9.4 out of 10 in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 9.7 out of 10 in the Greenhouse Gas Index test with its dual-motor Model S.

In the small MPV category, a commercial model appeared. While Renault Kangoo E-Tech became the most environmentally friendly small MPV car, the brand received 10 out of 10 in the Clean Air Index test, 8.5 out of 10 in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 8.7 out of 10 in the Greenhouse Gas Index test.

Finally, we come to the small SUV category. German automobile brand Volkswagen became the winner of this category with its electric small SUV model ID.5. ID.5 , which received 10 out of 10 points in the Clean Air Index test, 9.4 out of 10 points in the Energy Efficiency Index test and 9.6 out of 10 points in the Greenhouse Gas Index test, became the winner of the last category of the list.
