Threads finally adds long-awaited “Following” Tab

Ana sayfa / Social Media

Threads, Meta’s Twitter rival app, is nowhere near as popular as it was when it launched. Despite reaching more than 150 million users, the number of active users of the platform has halved. But the much-anticipated “Following” tab could open a new door for Threads.

Threads gets a Following tab

Threads has finally rolled out a long-awaited design change. You will now only be able to view a dedicated tab for the accounts you follow. Similar to Twitter, you’ll be able to create a feed for either recommended accounts or those you follow.

The Followed tab will allow users to only view posts from accounts they follow on Threads. This means that long-controversial algorithmically recommended content will be removed from the feed.

Threads iOS updated with Follows tab, Translation, and more

Instagram's new Twitter-rival app, Threads, is getting a new update to its iOS app, and the update brings several new features...

As you know, until now, Threads had a single home page. On this page, content from across the platform was brought together according to the user’s interests. For example, people who liked a lot of content about cars were presented with such posts.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the Following tab was added in response to user requests. Regarding the requests for the feature, he said, “You ask and we will do it.”

To access the Following feed, you can tap the Threads logo at the top of the screen or the home icon. However, when the app is reopened, it will default back to the “For You” algorithmic feed.
