Threads, launched by Meta last week, has received its first update. The most notable addition to the new version is support for iOS 17. A number of minor improvements have also been announced for the Instagram-based social media platform.
Threads update adds iOS 17 support
Following its acquisition by Elon Musk, a number of Twitter rivals have emerged. The recent launch of Meta’s Threads platform has added to the competition. After reaching more than 100 million people in 3 days, the platform received a new update on iOS.
The most notable feature of the update was the support of iOS 17. This allows iPhone models running the latest version of iOS to use Threads seamlessly. It also fixed a bug that caused the app to crash when trying to add a photo or video to a post.
The update includes support for iOS 17, as well as a number of bug fixes and performance improvements. According to Meta, these changes will make Threads more stable and smoother.
The Threads update is now available on the App Store. To install the update, open the App Store and tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Then go to Updates > Threads > Update.
Regardless of iOS 17, if you use Threads, we recommend you install the update for the best experience. You shouldn’t ignore the first update as it contains both bug and performance fixes.
